Babydoll-ywood: Hottest Lingerie and Underwear Scenes in Hollywood Movies

If you’re not that keen when it comes to details, then you probably don’t notice how lingerie plays a big role in Hollywood movies. These scenes have made an indelible impact to us – especially for pre-adolescent boys and grown men alike (What’s FAPpening?!), and gave a completely different perspective to the film term, “visual elements”.

Here are the Top 10 hottest and most memorable lingerie and underwear scenes in Hollywood movies!

1. Carrie Fisher – Return of the Jedi

Carrie Fisher – Return of the Jedi Probably and arguably the reason why sci-fi geeks fell in love with the George Lucas series – particularly the last episode. Indeed, the force of this famous metal bikini is too strong, that it became one of the most fantasized characters of all time, making all those Star Wars fan boys envious of Jabba the Hutt.

2. Jamie Lee Curtis – True Lies

Jamie Lee Curtis – True LiesTruth is, none of us saw this coming. And guessing from the Governator’s character Harry Tasker, neither did he! The sudden transfiguration of Helen Tasker from a spy’s basket case wife to a smoking hot, lingerie-wearing MILF made us drool like an ice cream melting on a hot summer sun. (A little trivia: Jamie Lee Curtis wore her very own lingerie for this particular scene.)

3. Salma Hayek – From Dusk Till Dawn

Salma Hayek – From Dusk Till DawnJust to clear, Kristen Stewart didn’t made vampires look sexy. It was actually Salma Hayek in From Dusk Till Dawn that made us want to be sucked by a sultry beast in a bikini. Who wouldn’t? Are you not seeing the picture?

4. Scarlett Johansson – Lost In Translation

Scarlett Johansson – Lost In TranslationThis 2003 Sofia Coppola rom-com not only catapulted ScarJo’s career, but also made granny panties look sexy again. The close-to-minute, almost freeze framed scene redefines the Avengers star’s notoriety in terms of being one of the sexiest actress in Hollywood.

5. Jessica Biel – I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry

Jessica Biel – I Now Pronounce You Chuck and LarrySure, Jessica Biel’s bikini scene in the Adam Sandler-billed comedy can indeed make a gay man get a boner… maybe a far-fetched idea, but it sure as hell made straight guys clench their teeth in sheer titillation.

6. Jennifer Aniston – We’re The Millers

Jennifer Aniston – We’re The Millers“Women… like wine, they get better with age.” This clearly applies when FRIENDS alum, Jen Aniston showed off her strip dancing skills in the comedy flick, We’re The Millers. Here, she strut her moves wearing a nude laced demi bra-boyshorts combo. I gotta say, it’s way much better than the Rachel Cut.

7. Angelina Jolie – Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Angelina Jolie – Mr. and Mrs. SmithThis is probably what caught Brad’s eyes! We can’t blame the Tomb Raider star if she looks stunningly sexy on this leather babydoll. This just goes to show that Angie knows how to mix sexy with classy.

8. Kerry Washington – I Think I Love My Wife

Kerry Washington – I Think I Love My WifeLong before she became the feisty Olivia Pope in the hit series, Scandal, she was a seductive temptress trying to ruin a marriage in the movie, I Think I Love My Wife. Although it didn’t go well in the box office, the climactic scene where the 37-year old flaunts her slender body in a black lingerie set and high heels made the half-cooked rom-com still worth the watch.

9. Amanda Seyfried – Mean Girls

Amanda Seyfried – Mean GirlsOf course, everyone else will pick the Plastics queen bee, Regina George’s bunny lingerie, but c’mon, be realistic! Karen Smith’s “mouse” costume (black see-through babydoll + mid-calf boots) is way better and waaaayyy sexier! Could be because she has a nice pair of bumpers that can predict the weather?

10. Emma Stone – Easy A

Emma Stone – Easy ANot sure if Emma Stone made the corset look wholesome, or the corset made Emma Stone look fiercely adorable. Whatever the case may be, this 2010 teen chick flick made us think of getting grandma’s old corset from her hope chest and wear it to school while listening to Simple Mind’s Don’t You Forget About Me.

That Time of the Month? Here Are Some Activities To Do When You’re on Your Period

I guess it’s no longer strange and new to us, women the struggles that we face during that time of the month… That means “menstrual period” for those of you, guys, which for any strange reason, managed to land on this particular blog page.

No Strings Attached Sceen

Most girls think that menstruation is God’s way of punishment for biting that forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. I mean, who would want to suffer cramps, headaches, mood swings and low self-esteem on a regular basis (monthly for most girls)? This makes this women’s cycle the color red that makes everything blue…

No one can blame you if you feel this way.

However, it does not mean you should cancel all your commitments and activities just because monthly red comes in the most inconvenient day. In fact, you should engage yourself to some activities even more during this time instead of locking yourself at home, wearing the same sweatpants for 3 straight days, eating Ben & Jerry’s, crying while watching Titanic for the Nth time.

Here are some activities to enjoy even when you’re on your period:

Swimming

– A lot of women have been fooled by this old wives tale that it never a good idea to go swimming during menstrual period… Not even showering. Basing from what I’ve heard during my health class, it is mainly because it could leak all over the pool. Perhaps… Then, there’s the recurring “shark” joke when swimming in the beach. Bottom line is you can still do swim even when you’re in the red zone, provided that you wear tampons. Diving is a completely different story, tho.

Go out and Exhibit Yourself

– As mentioned earlier, girls tend to lock themselves within their comfort zone, especially when having a major flow, for the reason that we’re very sensitive and very emotional during this time. So, why not go out instead? This is most likely the best time to go out with friends as opposed to stressing yourself out even more at home. Go out on a date, chill out with your girlfriends, go shopping or plan a road trip. Take out those blues period blues away!

Doll Up

– You don’t want to mess up your cute peach-colored dress. You’re uncomfortable wearing the sexiest lingerie your partner gave you last Christmas. Those are just some of the reasons women don’t want to dress up during red letter day. On the contrary, it’s during these days that you need to dress up even more. Dressing up can boost up woman’s esteem and confidence, and that’s exactly what you need in the most trying times of menstrual period.

Stay Active

– Too lazy and cramped to move a muscle? Well, don’t be. In fact, exercising can even alleviate menstrual cramps, not to mention it also improves your mood. Running, jogging, walking, yoga, dancing, aerobics and pilates are just some of the exercise that best complements your body during crimson wave week.

Share Intimate Moments with your Partner

– I understand some you will pull the usual “EEK!” the moment your eyes land on this very line… Believe it or not, sex during periods can be quite enjoyable and relaxing, provided that you’ve taken all the necessary precautions and needs before engaging (that means condoms, shower, etc.) And just to clarify, this is not limited to sex. You can also do other “playful” stuff if you’re not comfortable with doing the deed as you bleed.

Be Creative

– If you’re really not in the mood to brave the city life on a “red alert” weekend, another activity that you can pretty much enjoy on your period is to pre-occupy yourself with art such as collage-making, sculpting and painting. The latter pretty much redefines the phrase, “paint the town red”. Kidding aside, art will also help you de-stress yourself as you get by with your period.

Foodage Galore

– Think of it as your cheat day to eat as much food as you want. A hall pass, if you may. It is normal to indulge your cravings during your period, considering the excruciating pain and irritable feeling you’re already going through. Although, not to the extent where you’re just making your period as an excuse to overindulge. Establish limitations, unless you want to prolong your suffering as opposed to make you feel better.

To wrap this up, menstrual period shouldn’t be seen as the annoying buzzkill that constantly tries to ruin your week. Instead, you should embrace it and treat it as a good and perfectly normal thing.

Free the Nipple: An “Edgy” Take on Gender Equality

“Censorship feeds the dirty mind more than the four-letter word, itself.”

-Dick Cavett, Talk show host

To quote John Lennon’s line in the song, Revolution, “You say you want a revolution. Well, you know. We all want to change the world.” Indeed, we all want change. And apparently, this is what documentarist/activist, Lina Esco had in mind when she decided to film a bunch of topless women running around the streets of Time Square to raise awareness on gender equality and the current state of female nudity in most part of the states across America.

Her latest offering, Free the Nipple is a documentary that tackles the issue of the long-considered taboo of nudity among women. Moreover, it aims to defy the censorship and the general thinking of indecency towards women being topless – including breastfeeding.   This seemingly propaganda film follows a group of women choose to take their protest in the streets by means of going topless.

It’s Like a Topless Pussy Riot

If you’re familiar with the punk activist group, Pussy Riot – whom themselves actually had a fair share of performance videos and installation art to express their animosity towards Vladimir Putin’s leadership – then, this is practically how to describe the documentary. The only difference? Utter disregard for wearing shirts and intimate undergarments will be seen.

Through a mixture of script-driven clips and real event outtakes that transpired in New York, the film shows a formidable ensemble of actual activists backed by pure guts to express their utter dismay against the idea of obscenity and explicit towards the female body.

Although the main driving point is bare nipples, the film is generally about feminism and equality and women empowerment. The exposed chest is just merely an instrument to draw attention about far deeper issues that involve double standards, sexism and gender bias.

A “Meta” Way to Diss Censorship

This politically-fueled visual presentation also extends its reach to the issues of censorship that is being imposed both in media and social media platforms wherein “acts of violence and killing are glorified” and the exposure of the women’s nipples are considered far more obscene and derogatory, ergo must be censored (Quite “meta” if you ask me). In a recent interview, Esco also exclaimed the censorship imbalances on social media (Facebook in particular). She told, “You can show beheadings on Facebook, but the nipple was too obscene [for them]”, referring to the social networking site taking down pictures of breastfeeding moms for being “overtly sexual”.

That being said, it is reported that breastfeeding in public is still very much frowned upon (and even considered as a violation in some States) in our present times, resulting to an ongoing heated argument on whether it’s “proper” to do it in public or not.”

#FreeTheNipple

Along with the inception of the film, Free The Nipple has grown into a full-fledged advocacy that focuses on addressing equal rights for women and men, as well as to promote an equilibrium towards the censorship in media – pertaining to the perception of a woman’s bare body as being lewd and instigator of salacity.

Since then, many artists, influencers and celebrities have shown their support in the campaign, including Lena Dunham, Scout Willis, Cara Delevingne, Liv Tyler, Michelle Rodriguez and Miley Cyrus. The latter has been actively vocal in participating in the campaign as the Queen of Twerk was more than happy to lend her voice for the said movie’s official soundtrack.

In summary, I think this movie-cum-advocacy is what the world needs to hear the voice of all women in the world, yelling and screaming for gender equality. The movie is not just about being too radically racy or to promote any indecency. It is about grasping the freedom from being tagged and judged as such.

Free The Nipple currently runs on a limited release across North America.

A lot of you, readers may not agree on this article, particularly the censorship thing. Feel free to leave your thoughts below and let’s discuss.

When to Say Goodbye to Your lingerie

The weather is beginning to get chilly and soon there will be Christmas Carols everywhere. With the holidays coming in just few weeks, we will once again have the opportunity to shop at great discounts this coming Thanksgiving and Black Friday. If you’re a lingerie lover like me, I’m sure you’re already dreaming of adding something new in your intimate apparel collection and buying new pieces to fit your fall to winter outfit.
say goodbye to your lingerieBut before we even go shopping, let us first make sure that we have enough room in our lingerie drawer for more thongs, bra sets, bikinis or babydolls. You know we can’t keep on adding new piece without saying goodbye to some, right? So as we wait for the coming of the greatest shopping holiday, let me help you go tackle your lingerie dilemma and finally decide which ones should stay and which ones should go.

Intimate apparels have different shelf life based on their brands, the way your care for them and the frequency of use. If you have a large collection, there’s a good chance that most of your luxury lingerie has been untouched in the last few months. However, that doesn’t mean you got to keep them all. Take some time to go through your lingerie and sort it out for more organized drawer.

Here are some questions to help you in your dilemma.

Bras

•    Is your ban or straps already stretched out? Does it slide off your shoulder despite adjustment?
•    Does the cup already lose its shape? Does it fail to give you good silhouette when worn underneath tight clothing?
•    Is the wire already warped or protruding? Does it make you feel uncomfortable in anyway?
•    Is the color of your bra already faded or rough? Does it have stains that seem irremovable?

Panties

•    Does it have holes on the lining or other parts?
•    Does it have stubborn stains that can’t be removed?
•    Is the waistband or leg opening too tight or too lose?
•    Is there any lose thread or broken stitching?

Babydolls and night gowns

•    Does it feel a little too tight or too lose in some areas?
•    Is the lace or embellishment already broken or run-down?
•    Does it have any holes?

Throwing away some of your lingerie can be extremely daunting. But if you no longer have enough room for your lingerie collection, you really have to say goodbye to the old ones and welcome new pieces in your collection.
Women’s body changes with age. Even our lifestyle impacts our body shape and lingerie size. If you have increased your weight due to pregnancy or lose some pounds after rigorous workout, make sure to rethink your lingerie collection and only wear the size that fits your body properly.

Now that you have said goodbye to some of your intimate apparels, you can now visit a nearby lingerie store or go to your favorite online shop to get new styles for this coming season.
